SYMPATHY:

Warren Garrett passed away Tuesday, September 23. The Bill Head Funeral Home (Lilburn/Tucker location) is handling the arrangements. There will be a visitation Friday, September 26 at Bill Head from 6-8 PM. The memorial service will be on Saturday, September 27 at Campus Church at 1:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Georgia AGAPE, 3094 Mercer University Drive, Suite 200, Atlanta, GA 30341.

NEW BABY:

Congratulations to Todd and Kelly Posey and big brother, Garrett, who welcomed Ansley Michelle Posey on Tuesday, September 15, at 10:08 am. She weighed in at 7 lbs and was 19 inches in length.

PRAYER CONCERNS:

Carol Harsh will have partial knee replacement surgery on Thursday, September 25.

Lance Gray had surgery Wednesday to repair his shattered kneecap.  The surgery went well and he will recuperate at his mom's house for several weeks.  Six week of physical therapy and 8 months for a full recovery is expected.

Mike Brown is home from surgery (toe amputation) and is doing well. The doctor was happy with the way things went and is confident that he removed all the cancerous cells.  He is sending tissue off for pathology and we will have those results later this week.

After four rounds of chemo, Scott Crawford's tumor has shrunk 60% and surgery will be scheduled soon to remove the primary sight and hopefully the entire tumor.

Ana Kerfoot has been diagnosed with Primary Progressive Aphasia.  This is a rare, incurable, non-Alzheimer’s dementia that affects her ability to communicate.

Cindy Kilpatrick was able to go home from the hospital Saturday morning, September 13 following a mastectomy. The tests showed that the cancer had not spread to the lymph nodes. She will have several rounds of chemo starting in a couple of weeks.

Judy McMahan came through surgery with flying colors. The doctor was able to remove the tumor. It was a return of cancer from her previous surgery, but thankfully it was slow growing. Specimens from the tumor have been sent to two special labs to match for the chemo protocol. She is hoping to go home later this afternoon (Tuesday, Sept. 23).

Guy Whitehead’s surgery went longer than expected, but the outcome was good. The doctors were unable to carry out the original plan but did complete the surgery successfully.

Karen Blackman was released from Gwinnett Medical to Joan Glancy rehab on Thursday, 9/18. She anticipates getting her strength back up. The pain has been lessened by surgery, but still is a presence.

Hall Irby has been moved from Piedmont Hospital to Decatur Hospital for rehab and nutrition therapy. He will be there for 1 to 2 weeks.
