Week 1: 6PM, Thursday, June 17: Foundations: Developing Godly Habits for a Lifetime
Daily communion with God is essential for living a Spirit-empowered life. We’ll look at some ways we can develop the habits of personal worship.
Psalm 119: 9 – 11: “How can a young man keep his way pure? By living according to your word. I seek you with all my heart; do not let me stray from your commands.”
Week 2: 6PM, Tuesday, June 29: Fellas: Putting Boys in Biblical Perspective
Obsession with boys has plagued girls for centuries. How can we put boys in a proper biblical perspective? What should we admire in men? Our world has given us a distorted view of manhood and romantic love, so we’ll look to God’s word for our answers.
Isaiah 54:5: “For your Maker is your husband – the Lord Almighty is his name – the Holy One of Israel is your Redeemer…”
Week 3: 6PM, Tuesday, July 6: Fruit: Discovering and Employing your Spiritual Gifts
God has blessed each of us with a spiritual gift, and we’re instructed to use it to edify the body and evangelize nations. Do you know your gift? Are you using it? We’ll look at ways to identify your gifts and use them in the body.
I Corinthians 12: 7: “Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good.”
Week 4: 6PM, Tuesday, July 20: Flesh: Modesty and Purity
Our culture has dealt us a severe blow in this area. Fashion, clothing, and the craving for sex appeal are at an all-time high. How do we apply God’s standards to determine how we should approach our attitude toward our bodies, minds, and attire? We’ll address the heart of the matter in this study.
2 Timothy 2:22: “Flee the evil desires of youth, and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, along with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.”
Week 5: 6PM, Tuesday, July 27: Future: Depending on God for It All
Girls love to plan and dream. But is this a biblical concept? How do we hold our plans and dreams loosely and really depend on God for our future?
Psalm 118: 8-9: “It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in man. It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in princes.”
Week 6: 6PM, Tuesday, August 3: Freedom: Avoiding Feminine Pitfalls/Developing Godly Femininity
Gossip, jealousy, vanity, pride…these are all sins that seem to capture women in particular (although not exclusively!). How do we put off these sins and replace them with the godly feminine virtues of kindness, edifying speech, humility, and love?
Ephesians 4: 22 – 24: “You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.”
