We're excited to return to the City of Children in Ensenada, Mexico this summer! This will be an amazing mission trip experience for all of our students currently in grades 8-12.
ABOUT THE CITY OF CHILDREN:
The City of Children is a mission work of the churches of Christ. The purpose is to teach the good news about Jesus to the orphaned and needy children of Mexico. Since the beginning, more than 500 have become Christians. The Mexican government allows us to teach the gospel because we are giving their children a good home, care and education. We are trying to bring love and happiness back into the lives of hurting children. The purpose of our visit is to be a friend and an example of Jesus to each child. Your hugs and attention may be the love that helps heal a broken heart. If you will reach out to the children, God will overflow your heart with blessings. When you serve a meal, give a gift or build a house you are doing it for Jesus as well as a child.
All of the children at the City of Children have a story. Most have been abandoned for some reason. Some of their parents have died; some can’t afford to take care of their children or are abusive or negligent. Some of the children don't know why they are there. All of them share the same sense of urgency - to love and be loved by caring Christians - and to feel the compassion of God’s people.
The City of Children is located about 1.5 hours south of San Diego, CA on the outskirts of Ensenada, Mexico. At one time the home was actually a ranch. It's set in the beautiful hills of Baja & surrounded by a brick wall. It's a safe place for our students to go & serve these precious children.
In order to cross the border & travel into Mexico, you will need a passport. If you don’t already have one please apply for one asap as they take a few weeks to process. You’ll need a birth certificate, photo ID & 2 passport photos. To learn more about applying for a passport, click here.
What will we do @ the City of Children?
Our trip to the City of Children will involve different things. Each day our group will be a part of a work project in the local community. Each evening we’ll conduct a VBS for the children. We’ll also have the chance to share food & clothing with the poor in the immediate area.
How much will the mission trip cost?
The cost for the mission trip is $850. This money will provide for your airfare, travel, food & VBS materials. We will try to work together as a team to raise additional money for community service projects.

April 21: Kick-off Meeting for Students & Parents: 11:30AM in the Underground: $150 due
May 5: Meeting #1: 11:30-1:30PM in the Underground: $150 due
June 2: Meeting #2: 4-6PM in the Underground: $150 due
June 9: Meeting #3: 2-4PM in the Underground: $150 due
July 7: Final Meeting: 11:30 w/ Students & Parents. Final Payment due.
